Installing a 45 degree saddle tap on round duct can be a tricky task. Follow this step by step instructional to install them like a pro. Ensure you set up your saddle tap to face the direction of air flow. Once you are happy with the location, trace around the inside of the saddle tap with a marker on the round duct (it should be egg shaped). Drill a hole into the traced line with a unibit and carefully cut along the traced line with a set of sheet metal snips. Once you've made the hole, line up and secure the saddle tap with a screw in the back of the saddle tap. Then drill a screw into all four corners of the saddle taps skirt and seal with duct sealant.
