Wyes

A wye, in the context of HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems, is a type of duct fitting that allows for a branch to be made in a duct run to a smaller size. It is called a "wye" because it resembles the letter Y in shape, with one larger inlet side and two smaller outlet sides branching off at an angle of 45 or 60 degrees. Wyes are commonly used in HVAC systems to branch off duct runs to supply air to multiple locations or to redirect airflow to different parts of a building.
